One of our Insurance clients is looking to hire a ‘Marine Underwriter’ for their Dubai Office:

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Excellent subject matter and technical knowledge
Marketing and producer development skills
Ability to combine entrepreneurial, commercial approach with prudent underwriting
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, executive leadership, producers and others
Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills
Operation of Excel, Outlook and all standard business computer programs

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Underwrite for the Marine line of business to meet revenue and profitability targets
Develop and implement marketing plan
Develop and build producer relationship
Meet retention and new business targets
Assess the risk, review slips and prepare referrals with recommendations to insurer
Negotiate with producers for best possible outcome
Ensure excellent services standards including quality of underwriting and timely response which meet or exceed company standards
Liaise with Insurer’s Claim Department to provide input for claims and maintain records of all claims advised
Operational support to track renewals, raise invoices etc.
