One of our Insurance clients is looking to hire a ‘Marine Underwriter’ for their Dubai Office:

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 5 years of relevant Insurance industry experience
  • Track record of new business development
  • Demonstrated profitability of portfolios managed

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Excellent subject matter and technical knowledge
  • Marketing and producer development skills
  • Ability to combine entrepreneurial, commercial approach with prudent underwriting
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, executive leadership, producers and others
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Operation of Excel, Outlook and all standard business computer programs

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Underwrite for the Marine line of business to meet revenue and profitability targets
  • Develop and implement marketing plan
  • Develop and build producer relationship
  • Meet retention and new business targets
  • Assess the risk, review slips and prepare referrals with recommendations to insurer
  • Negotiate with producers for best possible outcome
  • Ensure excellent services standards including quality of underwriting and timely response which meet or exceed company standards
  • Liaise with Insurer’s Claim Department to provide input for claims and maintain records of all claims advised
  • Operational support to track renewals, raise invoices etc.
  • Record keeping and reporting
