Project Engineer

One of our clients in the construction industry, is looking to hire a ‘Project Engineer’ for their Dubai office.

Qualification and Experience:

• Diploma / Degree in Engineering
• 5+ years in the construction field

• Good communication skills
• Strong Technical skills in reading the drawings.
• Problem-solving skills
• Commercial awareness
• Teamworking skills

Main Accountabilities:

• Safe Execution of work
• Liaison with Client and internal departments for work follow-up.
• On-time completion of work without any delays.

Responsibilities:

• To set out and organize the works in accordance with the drawings and specifications.

• To liaise with the main contractor, consultant, and client, as necessary for site work progress.

• To enforce the relevant safety rules at the site and make sure personal protective equipment is worn as and where required by the staff/workmen under their responsibility.
• To attend coordination meetings organized by clients and consultants etc.
• Conduct daily briefings with site team leaders to follow-up and report on the work progress to anticipate any possible delays with regard to planned tasks.
• To take immediate corrective action to avoid any cumulative effect of such deviation and recover the delay to finish the task in due time.
• Assist the Manager in the supervision and management of site activities for the assigned project.
• To liaise with the project planning engineer regarding construction programs.
• Conduct regular inspections and assess the work performance done by all subcontractors, where necessary.
• To evaluate and resolve any discrepancies and problems arising during construction, which affect the quality of works performed.
• Coordinate the handing over of completed works to the client and the completion of the necessary rectification works, in accordance with the project specification.
• To check the materials and work in progress for compliance with the specified requirements.
• To provide technical support to other site team members and resolve technical issues with Clients and internal department staff.
• To supervise and counsel junior or trainee engineers.
• To provide measurement and valuation, in collaboration with the project quantity surveyor where appropriate.
• To provide data in respect of variation orders and site instructions.
