Technical Underwriting Officer

One of our Insurance clients is looking to hire “Technical Underwriting Officer – General Accident” for their Abu Dhabi Office

Reporting to the Unit Manager, core duties include the following:

• Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom-line targets,
• Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary),
• Negotiate insurance pricing, terms & conditions with brokers, direct clients using assigned underwriting authority and company guidelines,
• Binds coverage and documents the underwriting files with account review, analysis, and conclusions
• Ensure contract certainty is achieved on all accounts at time of inception,
• Ensure placing and binding of FAC Reinsurance prior to policy inception with reputable & acceptable RI Securities.
• Manage Policy Documentation and Administration efficiently and maintain high TAT standards, and ensuring accuracy in documentation issued to brokers & clients,
• Ensure proper file backup for each risk and transactions handled,
• Positively represent organization externally to the market,
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers, clients

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
• Relevant work experience of 2-3+ years in Casualty & Liability Underwriting.
• Experienced in underwriting, quoting, and binding profitable business.
• Relationships with brokers.
• Team player.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
