Head of Motor Underwriting

One of our insurance clients is looking to hire a ‘Head of Motor Underwriting’ to be based in their Dubai Office.

The ideal candidate would possess about 10+ years of working experience of the UAE market, specifically dealing with Broker agents and underwriting of the retail segment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing and implementing underwriting strategies and policies for motor insurance products.
• Managing the underwriting process, including risk assessment, and pricing, and ensuring the team adheres to underwriting standards and guidelines.
• Overseeing the team’s performance and providing guidance, support and coaching as needed.
• Building relationships with external stakeholders, such as brokers and customers, to understand their needs and develop insurance products that meet their requirements.
• Analysing market trends and monitoring underwriting results to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
• Collaborating with other departments, such as claims, actuarial, and marketing, to ensure a seamless customer experience.
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

A bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field is required, and a master’s degree or higher is preferred.
