One of our client is looking to hire an Officer – Internal Auditor (Motor Claims) for one of our clients in Abu Dhabi.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct continuous and risk-based monitoring of motor claims transactions, including recovery claims and salvage processes, across all stages (intimation, assessment, settlement, recovery, and closure)
• Identify high-risk claims patterns, abnormal settlements, repeat claims, leakages, and fraud red flags
• Assess control gaps, process inefficiencies, and emerging risks, and recommend enhancements to claims processes and controls
• Perform root cause analysis for deviations, errors, and control failures
• Monitor claims ageing, settlement timelines, and reserve adequacy
• Develop and apply fraud risk indicators and perform exception-based testing using data analytics
• Identify duplicate claims, inflated repairs, vendor-related risks, and suspicious adjuster or garage behavior
• Coordinate with Claims, Underwriting, Finance, and Legal teams on identified issues
• Prepare periodic monitoring reports highlighting risk ratings, financial impact, recommendations, and agreed corrective actions
• Track management action plans and perform follow-up reviews to ensure timely implementation
• Escalate critical issues to the Head of Internal Audit and senior management in a timely manner
• Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, and investigations related to motor insurance
• Monitor implementation of new regulations and circulars issued by the Central Bank of the UAE and other regulatory bodies
• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Insurance, or a related field
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in internal audit, claims audit, or motor claims within the insurance sector
• Strong understanding of motor claims processes and the UAE insurance regulatory environment
• Experience in continuous monitoring, fraud risk assessment, and control evaluation
• Strong analytical and investigative mindset with high attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently
Preferred:
• Professional certification such as CFE or equivalent
• Knowledge of motor underwriting is a strong advantage
• Experience with Claims Management Systems (CMS) and Policy Administration Systems
• Strong data analysis skills (Excel, Macros, Python)
